ECOCLUB

         The Ecoclub of A.S.D. Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Kakinada, is a dynamic, student-driven initiative established with the vision of promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living. It provides a platform for students and faculty to come together to learn about, discuss, and act on crucial environmental issues.

        With the motto "Take care of Mother Earth as she takes care of all of us," the club conducts a wide range of impactful activities such as Plantation drives, plastic-free campaigns, clean-up activities, clay idol workshops, rallies, quizzes, webinars, awareness programs, Painting and Poster presentation competitions. These initiatives aim to install a deep respect for nature and encourage sustainable practices both within the campus and the wider community.

Aim

         To cultivate an eco-conscious mindset among students and staff by inspiring active participation in environmental conservation, sustainable Green initiatives, and community engagement.

Objectives

  1. To spread awareness about environmental protection and sustainable development among students and the community.
  2. To reduce the use of plastic and promote eco-friendly alternatives through initiatives like “No Plastic Day.”
  3. To promote green mobility and reduce carbon emissions through “No Vehicle Day” campaigns.
  4. To organize environment-centric programs such as Earth Day, World Water Day, World Environment Day, International Ozone Day, Forest Day and more.
  5. To encourage waste segregation, composting, recycling, and responsible  e-waste disposal practices.
  6. To promote biodiversity conservation through plantation programs and preservation of green spaces.
  7. To collaborate with local bodies and environmental organizations for larger impact.
  8. To support environmental education through workshops, seminars, and competitions.

Vision

To create a clean, green, and sustainable campus that inspires environmentally responsible behaviour and nurtures a generation of young leaders dedicated to safeguarding our planet.

Mission

  • To educate, engage, and empower the college community to adopt environmentally sustainable lifestyles through awareness, hands-on learning, and active participation.
  • To reduce the ecological footprint and foster a lasting culture of environmental stewardship that extends beyond the campus into the wider community.
