Brief History of the Department

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1963.The college is offering two B.Sc. Programmes, one is B.Sc.(MPC) (TM) with the intake of 40 students and the other is B.Sc.(MPCs)(EM) with the intake of 60 students. CBCS scheme was introduced in the year 2015.The syllabus of the course is framed according to the syllabus of affiliated university Adikavi Nannaya University on the recommendations of the members of Board of Studies. At present, two faculty members are working in the department, one faculty is of regular mode and the other faculty is contract lecturer.

The department arranges guest faculty seminars and conducts classroom seminars, quiz programmes to encourage the students to develop problem solving abilities. The Department conducts remedial classes to the backlog students and bridge course for the slow learners. The faculties are the members of MOOC online courses and NDL. The faculty members of the Department attended the seminars, workshops and faculty development programmes. The Department maintains library and issues books to the students.

To bring mathematical knowledge as center stage in the curriculum and instill analytical and logical thinking among students.

The mission of the mathematics department is to provide an environment, where students can learn and become competent users of mathematics and mathematical applications.

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course student will be able to

  1. Solve the Differential Equations of first order and higher order Differential Equations with constant coefficients.
  2. Understand the concepts of abstract algebra.
  3. Solve the problems in linear algebra.
  4. Classify the problems in real analysis.
  5. Apply the Numericalmethods in solving the scientific problems.
