Brief History of Department
Annavaram Satyavathi Devi College for Women was established as a Composite college in the year 1962 under the administration of Annavaram Devasthanam at Kakinada. The post of Lecturer in Hindi was sanctioned in the G.O.Ms.No. 594, Education Department, dt: 07.03.1979.
The Department offers Hindi as second language. Hindi is an important language among the all-over National languages and it has an official language status throughout in India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Its script “Devanagari “is written and spoken accepted worldwide nations.
In India, so many employment sources are created in state and central government organisations like SHAR, PGCIL, BSNL, LIC, Income tax Department, Customs & Excise Department etc are appointed as Hindi officers.
Department is able to fulfil all type of modern need to learn and display of their necessary information notes, Text book, Information of all google books, Reference books, Magazine etc. Arrange necessary programmes to develop language skills in students such as Guest lecture, group discussion, Quiz competitions, Seminars, Literature writing, Certificate Courses etc.
The Department has the privilege of doing Major Research Project of Rs.9,32,000 sanction by UGC in the year 2014 entitled “Swathantothar Hindi Katha Sahithy main Mithkiya Chethana aur Jeevan Darshan” to Dr. M.Prabhavathi (Retd.) Department of Hindi which is a source of inspiration to the new faculty of the Department.
