To empower  students with a deep understanding and proficiency in the Sanskrit language and its rich cultural heritage, providing them with the necessary skills to excel in their academic pursuits and become ambassadors for Sanskrit language and culture.

Mission

. To cultivate a strong sense of cultural appreciation and pride among degree students by immersing them in the study of classical Sanskrit texts, poetry, drama, and other forms of literature.

. To equip  students with the necessary linguistic skills to read, write, and speak Sanskrit fluently, enabling them to engage with primary sources and academic research in the field of Sanskrit studies.

 To promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration within the field of Sanskrit studies, encouraging degree students to engage with scholars and researchers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

Objectives

  •  To Develop a thorough understanding of Sanskrit grammar, including syntax, morphology, and phonetics.

  • To teach students become proficient in reading, writing, and translating Sanskrit texts.This involves learning both classical and modern terms.

  •  To Study and interpret classical Sanskrit literature, including epic texts (Mahabharata, Ramayana), philosophical treatises (Vedas, Upanishads), and poetry.

  •  To Gain knowledge about the historical development of Sanskrit, its role in ancient Indian societies, and its influence on other languages and cultures.

  •  To Understand Sanskrit’s influence and relevance in a global context, including its impact on comparative linguistics and international cultural studies.

  • To organize more workshops and seminars. On Sanskrit  literature and epic -ethics knowledge , developments of  Sanskrit department..
